3D TV ?

I was recently in Minneapolis, walking around in the Mall of America and I happened to of wondered into Best Buy. One of the guys that were working their came up to me and asked if I wanted to watch 3D TV, and I was like shea! I want to watch 3D TV. So I walk over to where this TV was and I put these classy glasses on and it was amazing. It was like I was actually in the TV not like those movies where every now and then stuff comes flying out at you, this felt real. Then I wondered how much this is going to cost to get a fancy 3D TV. Well its not going to be very cheap. Since the viewer will have to buy a new 3D TV, 3D blue ray player, 3D movies and 3D active glasses.

Technology is advancing at a incredible rate and I just bought myself a HD TV and now they are already releasing a new wave of tvs, HDs are just catching on and their already going to be outdated? Manufactures are going to keep the price just slightly more than the LCD/LED models. Which we all know is still not cheap, and after we buy the tv then we are going to have to by all the accessories for it so It will work. Not to mention the goofy glasses you have to where to watch tv, which are going to run you from either $50 - $150. I if I wanted to look goofy for 150 bucks I would just buy a chicken suit.

I don’t think 3D tvs will catch on for awhile due to the fact of cost and programming, According to Game Informer the Discovery channel and ESPN already have dedicated to 3D programming. But how long is it going to take for the conversion. Since 3D movies and shows have to be shot with multiple cameras and it also requires multiple high def streams for transporting the video over networks. Standard definition broadcasts take up more bandwidth capacity then all the other types, high def takes up even more space and it would probably take up two full high def channels to broadcast in 3D.

3D television would be awesome but I don’t think its going to happen anytime soon granted u can get your hands on one now. People are just getting used to the idea of HD. Thiers no doubt in my mind it will happen eventually but as for now we are all safe from going out and buying brand new electronics.

  1. I think it will be a cool idea to have 3D TV in our society. Yes, it will be expensive but I sitll think people will enjoy 3D. Although we have 3D movies out in our society why not make 3D TV. I agree with you on the fact that I don't think 3D TV will be coming out anytime soon. Our society is bringing out way more 3D movies than ever before. You are so lucky you got to experience a 3D TV set.

  2. That would be really neat to watch regular tv in 3D. I bet it is going to be very expensive. The only bad thing is you have to buy so many things to watch 3D tv, not just a tv, but glasses to. Technology has to keep making new and better things so consumers keep buying them. That's to bad for those people that just buy a new technology and they come out with something better and stop making the old technology.

  3. I personally think that 3D should be for movies, and movies only. I mean, its just been recently that they're starting to make 3D movies more popular. I would be totally fine with just sticking to the regular tv's. High def. is as good as it gets for me. Don't get me wrong.. it's cool that they're coming out with such new and improved technology, but that gets really expensive for some people. I personally think that movies should have their big go around with this first.
