December 2012

December 21, 2012 is supposedly they day that the world is supposed to end, according to Nostradamus, the Mayans, Native Americans and more. Some say that its another thing to get scared over like Y2K but I’m convinced otherwise. I was watching the history channel one night and show came on called “the lost book of Nostradamus”, which talked about his prophecy about the end of time in 2012. I found this interesting, so I continued to watch it. It explained that on the winter solstice in 2012 (December 21st) is when all the planets in the solar system will align with the center of the universe, causing the axis of the earth to shift. Imagine our galaxy the Milky Way as a plate and the sun is orange sitting in the middle of it. As of right now and since life began on earth, our solar system has been drifting across the top of the plate. Well on December 21, 2012 we will be parallel with the plate, meaning our solar system, galaxy and sun will be completely in line with each other causing their to be an increase in gravity. Until the next day where the earth’s axis will be shifted to opposite side and we will be floating around the bottom of the plate. Not only will the earth shift its axis on that day but that is when the sun is at its “solar maximum” (The solar maximum only happens on average, every 11.120412 years) which is when solar flares from the sun are the strongest.. Small solar flares can affect earth greatly, especially electronics. They can fry power lines, zap grids, cause massive power outages and even disable electronics. But a large one could burn through our ionosphere which basically means there would be nothing left on earth. Life as we know it would be non-existent.

Hopefully the end of the world won’t occur on the 21st of December, but I do feel that something will defiantly go down that day. There is just way to many coincidences that occur on that day. I mean Nostradamus has had multiple prophecies that of occur such as Hitler, 9/11, the rise of Napoleon, just to name a few and then 2012. I hope it’s a coincidence but it would be a huge one with Nostradamus predicting it, the Mayan calendar ending, the alignment of our universe, and be the solar maximum all in one day.

  1. A fellow friend told me his theory on 2012 last semester. It freaked me out but I wasn't sure I believed it for awhile. But now with the movie and hype about the day that the world is going to end, its starting to seem a little more realistic that something most definitely will go down that day. I do agree that I really don't think that the world will end that day but some crazy &@!% is going to happen. At the same time, you have to think about Y2K - everyone was freaked out about that and it was nothing. Could Nastradamus be correct? Or did the Mayans just run out of time/life? Time will only tell.

  2. That is crazy and I really want to watch that episode on the History Channel! I have heard many things being said about the year of 2012 and I hope that they are not all true. However, according to different cultures, it is the end. I can only imagine how big of an uproar there is going to be when it gets closer to that date. People were so scared and panicked with the Y2K that I only expect it to be a similar situation. However, even though the Y2K brought about such a scare, it ended nicely. Everyone was fine….so hopefully people do not get to worried over the year of 2012. Keep us all posted if you hear anything else!!

  3. This is a very crazy story, because for me I don't believe that the world will end in 2012. Reading your blog did change my prediction, because now I have to see that episode on the History Channel. This kind of stuff interest me. I think something will happen on that day, but it just scares me just thinking about it. I'm hoping nothing does, but everyone should be expecting something when that day comes around. I know I will.
